“I´m interested in understanding Spanish not as a fixed image, but as a living territory that can be reinterpreted from the present”.

Look de Ana Locking en la exposición Modus

Ana Locking participated with three handmade looks in the exhibition “Modus. A la manera de España” (Modus. In the Spanish Way), held at the Sala Canal de Isabel II in Madrid.

The exhibition offered a journey through the history of Spanish fashion to analyze how the image of “Spanishness” has influenced designers from different eras. Within this curatorial context—which brought tradition, folklore, and contemporary reinterpretation into dialogue—Ana Locking’s pieces were integrated as a current view of the identity codes of Spanish dress.

The exhibition brought together great historical masters and contemporary creators, highlighting the continuity between cultural heritage and avant-garde experimentation. The three designs presented by the firm offered a personal and critical interpretation of this legacy, reaffirming Ana Locking’s ability to reinterpret Spanish style through a conceptual language that is free of clichés and oriented toward the future. Her presence in the exhibition consolidated the dialogue between fashion, culture, and identity that constantly runs through the designer’s work.
