Ana Locking has completed her first interior design project with the creation of holiday apartments in Malaga under the name ‘Halcyon Days’. The aesthetic and conceptual universe of some of her most iconic collections served as the main reference for the development of this interior design project.
True to her ability to tell stories through design, Ana Locking structured the project into five decorative universes, each inspired by the concepts of five of her latest collections. Based on this narrative, she developed her own designs for textile prints, high-end rugs, ceramics and furniture, complemented by collaborations with different firms to shape and build a coherent and unique aesthetic universe.
The result is a space where fashion, art and interior design converge, offering visitors an immersive experience that reflects Ana Locking’s creative and narrative essence.

Landscape

“The primitive American dream represents the desire to start from scratch and eventually own land and call it home”.

Collection inspired by an American road movie in which the central axis is lunar space, the surface of the moon, where concrete takes center stage as the aesthetic reference for the entire apartment.
“Aero-spatial” inspired furniture, transparent chairs and tables to play with weightlessness, lamps that glow in the dark, three-dimensional spotlights, a three-dimensional concrete rug, and textiles with a print of the lunar surface on cushions, mattress covers, and curtains.

Doppelgänger

“I am fascinated with the actor’s doppelgänger, his ability to build his character as a part of himself”.

Collection inspired by the idea of the double and its image, and impersonation. For this apartment we have worked with pieces that aim to recall their originals; the OSB material becomes the main aesthetic element, a material made from waste but that wants to be wood.
Heads of southern animals made of esparto, casts of fruits and leaves used as plates and bowls, chandeliers made with recycled materials as if they were garlands from the Málaga Fair, a rug that simulates OSB from which barios cubes of the same material emerge, as well as cushions and mattress covers with the OSB print.

“You can’t capture life moments, you can only live them”.

Collection inspired by love and life, a reminder of what surrounds us at every moment, moments we must appreciate and that make us feel that there is a kind of love in life that is forever, that is an eternal and immortal spirit. For this apartment, the color palette is kind and vibrant, the furniture is organic and circular in harmony with a more romantic, emotional, and dreamy feeling.
Rugs with distorted floral and vegetal motifs as if in a daydream, a headboard with prisms like the facets of our feelings, carved wooden birds inside glass domes, butterflies encapsulated in time.

What does

“It´s a reflection on the necessity that mankind has to believe and maintain a balance between materialism and spirituality”.

Collection inspired by the American one-dollar bill and its symbolism. The phrase “In God We Trust” is transformed in our collection into “What Does God Say?”, and the symbols hidden within this global icon have become the foundation for developing the decoration of this apartment. The triangle, the circle, marble, and gold are the constants guiding its design.
Gold ceiling lamp with light points that simulate the firmament, low-relief marble rug with the pyramid in gold, triangular marble tables positioned within the rug to form the Star of David, white glass lamps as if they were crystal balls, and marble-print textiles in cushions, mattress covers, and curtains.

“In life, past, present and future collide. This provide us an opportunity to reflect on the question of time”.

Collection inspired by the passage of time, references anchored in a place from the past. A time capsule opened 60 years later, where what was buried fits into the present despite belonging to another era.
Lamps from factories of the former GDR, a Thonet rocking chair, porthole mirrors from the last century, chairs by the Nordic masters of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, a three-dimensional moss rug, a record player with a selection of the 10 essential vinyl records according to Ana Locking.
