In INSIDES, Ana Locking explores the relationship between the physical and the emotional through an introspective lens that directs our attention to the inner self. The collection invites reflection on the duality that defines our existence: body and spirit, matter and emotion, chemistry and feeling. A universe where the visible is merely a manifestation of what lies deep within.

The collection translates this idea into accessory design, where shoes become a conceptual extension of the collection. The silhouettes, with their precise construction and structural lines, evoke an almost architectural aesthetic that plays with presence and absence. Open cuts and negative spaces leave the skin exposed, creating a dialogue between what is revealed and what remains hidden.

The materials reinforce this narrative. Combinations of smooth nappa and python leather create surfaces that alternate between the organic and the structured, while the prints reproduce microscopic images of the interior of the human body: tissues, muscle fibers, or cells transformed into abstract compositions that, paradoxically, resemble natural landscapes. What normally remains invisible is thus transformed into exterior decoration.

One of the most distinctive elements of the women’s models is the heel, reinterpreted as a literal needle that symbolically connects to the medical imagery present in the collection. This gesture turns the shoe into a piece laden with meaning, where design and concept are directly intertwined.

The visual campaign amplifies this conceptual universe by placing the shoes in a clinical, almost surgical setting, accompanied by syringes, vials, and medical elements. In this context, the pieces appear as objects of study, evoking the idea of aesthetic dissection that runs through the entire collection.
